Many sign makers have asked
whether you can recycle application paper. Pressure-sensitive paper
products are often problematic for recyclers. These include pressure-sensitive tapes with latex adhesives, such as application paper. Problems
that make these products non-recyclable are that the adhesive does not fully
dissolve in the re-pulping process and that any residual adhesive particles are often so
small that the processor cannot screen them out. Any of the sticky particles
that are not screened out can “gum up” the machinery, resulting in maintenance issues
with the paper making equipment.
