Screen Printing
Polycarbonates, such as RTape Claritex® brand of textured polycarbonate films, are excellent for second surface screen printing. Most inks used for printing polycarbonate
adhere well to polycarbonate film without pretreatment or top coating.

Bonding
Many different transfer
tape adhesive systems can be used with polycarbonate film. These films can also
be bonded through heat sealing.
Die cutting
Polycarbonate
can be die cut with steel rule, matched metal, and rotary dies.
Durability
Although not
recommended for outdoor applications, graphics made with polycarbonate film can
last from months to years.
Low stress
The extrusion
process induces very little mechanical stress into polycarbonate film during
manufacturing. This prevents stress
cracking, improves ink adhesion and provides superior thermoforming
characteristics.
Shelf life
Under proper
storage conditions, polycarbonate film has a shelf life of one year. Polycarbonate film should not be exposed on a
continuous basis to temperatures exceeding 185ºF (85ºC).
Fire resistant
Standard
polycarbonate films meet the stringent UL 94 V-2 specification for low
flammability.

Applying Air Egress Vinyls. Vinyl films with air egress release liners have almost eliminated bubbles and wrinkles from applied graphics. Air egress release liners with their highly textured surface structure are problematic. Not much will stick to these liners other than the vinyl film.
