Sign Builder Illustrated (www.signshop.com)
Mike Antoniak explores the various types of sign blanks and
panels available for your signage needs. These include high-density urethane
(HDU), wood, aluminum and aluminum composite.
If
you are unfamiliar with these materials and fabrication tools and techniques,
the manufacturers and distributors are ready, willing and able to provide you
with the advice you need for cutting and carving their products.
Along with the support that your distributor sales person will provide, much
of the additional information, that you will need is available on the internet,
either in the form of, product specifications, technical bulletins or how-to”
videos on their web sites. These instructional guides, according to Antoniak,
will walk users through proper handling and fabrication of sign blanks. If you are not equipped to fabricate sign boards, several distributors will cut and
carve blanks to your specs.
